The Goethe State Forest is located 2 hours north of Orlando. The park offers wonderful hiking trails for someone looking to get away from the noise and just relax. The park also has roads so if you wanted to stay in your car and slowly drive-thru in air conditioning go right ahead. Thier are campsites available at this park they are clean but primitive. I do recommend bring food and water if you plan on spending the whole day here.
The state of Florida has 175 state parks which are fairly inexpensive. Did you know traveling to Florida does not need to be expensive? The beautiful thing about parks is that visiting them is supporting the park directly.
When visiting state parks be respectful and keep them clean. Do not harass or feed the local wildlife.
If you get to the park early and want to end your day floating down the river my recommendations are to head to Rainbow River State Park. The 40 minutes drive south is going to be worth it.
